Arbor Day is right around the corner… What do you have planned?
Arbor Day is nearing fast on Friday April 25th. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved and make a positive impact on our environment and your very own community. According to www.arborday.org and the Arbor Day Foundation, over a billion people in 190 countries will participate in green initiatives in their communities. Whether you are helping to ‘green’ up your own communities, replant forests and trees or help children to love and nurture nature, then you are doing your part in making the Earth a better place for everyone!
It is easy to find ways that you can get out there and help to clean up your community. Is there a local playground that needs tending to? Is there a park that needs some clean up and landscaping? You can go to your local Garden Center and get some trees to plant at your home or office. This is also a great time to get the children involved. Take your children with you to the garden center and explain to them the importance of trees. Teach them how trees play a pivotal role in the wellbeing of our environment and how they are the responsible for the clean air that we preciously need to survive. Now is also a great time to talk to your children about recycling, creating less waste, and being environmentally conscious that everything they do makes an impact, be it good or bad, and that they are in control of what impact they choose to make.
Arbor Day is the perfect time of year to remind everyone that we all have a responsibility to keep our planet clean and healthy. If we all put energy in to making a positive impact on our environment everyday then we can all make a significant difference in the health of our planet.
